As ‘Big Bang Theory’ End Nears, Stars Reflect On Smash Show’s Legacy

The cast of “The Big Bang Theory” couldn’t contain their feelings during a Thursday appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” telling the host they were getting emotional about the upcoming conclusion of their beloved sitcom. Last August, CBS executives confirmed that season 12 of “The Big Bang Theory” would be its last. At 279 episodes, the show is set to make television history as the longest-running multi-camera comedy series of all time. Jim Parsons, who stars as Sheldon Cooper, told DeGeneres he’d yet to feel sentimental about the series finale, which airs in May, but that he expects to do so. “I have a very deep fear, seriously, that the most unexpected thing is going to happen,” he said. “And I’m going to absolutely lose my shit because it really is profound, the amount of time in y...

Anne Hathaway On Her Anxiety: ‘I Did Everything Wrong For So Long’

Anne Hathaway opened up about her battle with anxiety and disordered eating in a revealing new interview with People.  The 36-year-old actress spoke to the outlet’s editorial director, Jess Cagle, about the “10-year challenge” photo she posted on Instagram this month and how she’s changed in the decade between the photos.  “Wow. Check out 2009 me trying so hard not to do anything wrong. Check out 2019 me doing what feels right. Wicked sweet,” the actress had written on Instagram, quoting “Princess Diaries.” “I remember, 10 years ago, being so scared going into the whole awards season and doing what I thought I was supposed to do, so I barely ate anything at Christmas. I hate to say that,” Hathaway said, her voice going to a whisper as she covered her face with her hands. “I remember my dad...

Showtime’s ‘The L Word’ Is Officially Getting A Sequel

Fifteen years after “The L Word” broke fresh ground for its portrayal of lesbian women on television, a much-anticipated sequel is officially in the works.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime executives confirmed plans for a revival of the series on Thursday at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Los Angeles.  Though details were scarce, the new version is intended to be a sequel to the six-season Showtime original, which followed a group of queer women living in the Westside of Los Angeles and aired from 2004 through 2009. Original stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig and Leisha Hailey have reportedly signed on to reprise their roles and serve as executive producers.  Screenwriter Marja-Lewis Ryan, whose credits include “Empire” and “The Handmaid’s Tale...

Pete Davidson And Kanye West Hung Out And People Have Questions

The theme for Kid Cudi’s birthday was apparently how to gather in one room the most random assortment of guests who may or may not have a past beef.  On Wednesday night, the rapper rang in his 35th birthday at where else but the restaurant Nobu in Malibu, California, with frequent collaborator Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, as well as Pete Davidson and ― pause for dramatic effect ― Timothée Chalamet. The partygoers “all seemed to get along really well and had a nice time together,” an unnamed source told E! News. “It was a mellow night and the group mostly hung out and talked.” Kardashian documented the meeting of minds with photos of the crew enjoying a meal in a private room and laughing at something on Cudi’s phone.  Happy Birthday @KidCudi pic.twitter.com/rPkAvTgDLE — Kim Kardashian We...

The #BratzChallenge Encourages Humans To Look Just Like Dolls

Enter the #Bratzchallenge: the latest beauty trend sweeping social media, in which individuals transform themselves into living Bratz dolls with the use of heavy makeup (and maybe a filter or two). Earlier this month, the official Bratz Instagram account encouraged beauty-obsessed fans of the dolls to share their Bratz-inspired makeup on the photo-sharing app. As of this article’s publication, over 34,000 people have used the challenge hashtag. The results have been striking, to say the least: For the record, using makeup to make it look like you have vitiligo when you don’t is not OK. Blackface is not OK, either. Cleary, a lot of these people have serious makeup skills. Not everyone can turn a plastic doll’s painted-on makeup into a wearable look ― though not necessarily for every day. Ma...

Priyanka Chopra To Star In Film Based On Netflix’s ‘Wild Wild Country’

Priyanka Chopra made a wild announcement on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday. The “Quantico” actress said she is developing a film adaptation of the 2018 Netflix documentary “Wild Wild Country,” about the Rajneesh cult, which built a commune in rural Oregon in the 1980s. The Emmy-winning six-part series details the conflict between the nirvana-seeking cult and the conservative small town it neighbored, which was spurred viciously by Ma Anand Sheela, a charismatic, highly influential, foul-mouthed and polarizing assistant of the cult’s leader, the Indian guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (also known as Osho). Chopra, 36, revealed that she will star in and produce the adaptation and is partnering with director Barry Levinson (“Rain Man,” “Wag the Dog”) for the project. “We’re developing it as ...

Mexico Has Fallen In Love With The Indigenous Star Of ‘Roma.’ But What About The Other Yalitza Aparicios?

Yalitza Aparicio, the star of “Roma,” is the first indigenous woman in history to be nominated for an Oscar. She has also been featured in more national and international publications than any other Mexican celebrity in recent memory. Aparicio, the daughter of a domestic worker, told The New York Times she hoped her nomination would show “you’re not limited by your race or your class or your ethnicity or your socioeconomic conditions.” As I watched the Golden Globes, where “Roma” was honored with two awards, I wished I could experience the moment though Aparicio’s eyes. I’d never wished anything like that before. What’s happening to her right now is pure magic. But those who have been cheering her rising fame — from her first international accolade at the Venice Film Festival, to her Oscar...

In Order To Fight Zombies, Lupita Nyong’o Wrote A Letter To Taylor Swift

On Sunday night, Lupita Nyong’o and the cast of “Black Panther” won the Screen Actors Guild Awards’ top prize ― a moment that saw her jumping up and down in ecstasy on national television. Four hours later, she was beheading zombies at the Sundance Film Festival.  “Little Monsters” premiered at midnight, when Nyong’o was still reveling in “Wakanda forever” fever. She took a flight to Park City, Utah, at 6 the next morning to promote her zany zom-com, in which she plays a kindergarten teacher protecting her students from an outbreak of the walking dead during a sunny petting-zoo field trip. In between playing the ukulele during singalongs of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” Nyong’o darts around decapitating zombies and sparring with a deceptively selfish enterta...

Meghan Markle Not Coming Back To ‘Suits’ And Twitter Users Pretend To Be Shocked

The fact that Meghan Markle is no longer pursuing an acting career doesn’t exactly qualify as a scoop, but Twitter users were polite enough to pretend it was. Aaron Korsh, the creator of “Suits,” admitted to Deadline Monday that the Duchess of Sussex was unlikely to forgo her duties as a royal in order to appear on the show’s final season. Markle played Rachel Zane on the show. “I would love it, but I think it’s pretty close to zero,” he said, adding that the show is “not currently pursuing asking Meghan to leave her position with the royal family and join us.” Considering that the Duchess is also pregnant with her first child, Korsh’s admission confirmed what everybody probably already suspected. However, Twitter users were at least polite enough to pretend to be surprised by the Markle n...

Ariana Grande Tries And Fails To Fix Botched Japanese Tattoo

Ariana Grande should probably just bid “thank u, next” to tattoos altogether. The pop star has made a habit of commemorating her musical eras in ink ― she reportedly has upwards of 20 in total ― so after dropping her new single “7 Rings” she did just that by getting the name of the song tattooed in Japanese on her palm Tuesday.  Except the best-laid tattoo plans of pop stars often go awry and Grande accidentally tattooed the word for “shichirin” or “七輪,” which translates to a small Japanese charcoal grill, after nixing two important characters from the phrase.  For what it’s worth, she used the correct translation for seven rings (“七つの指輪”) in the music video for the song, which aptly features the lyric “Girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble.” Ariana Grande’s new tattoo “七輪” means ...

Meghan Markle Steps Out In A Brand-New Look And It’s A Royal Win

Meghan Markle’s royal patronage tour continues ― and with a brand-new look to top it off.  The Duchess of Sussex wore a black Givenchy coat and neutral suede heels for a visit Thursday to the Association of Commonwealth Universities, one of four charities she is supporting in her royal role. She completed her chic, elegant look with her hair in a top knot ― a bold, new style we haven’t seen before from the duchess.  The association is the world’s first and oldest international university network, with more than 500 member institutions in over 50 countries, according to Kensington Palace. Queen Elizabeth had been the patron of the charity for 33 years before handing it over to the duchess earlier this month. People Have Lots Of Jokes About Justin Bieber’s Brown-Hued Clothing Line, Drew House

Justin Bieber’s new clothing line looks like it was pulled from the closets of Yeezy, the cast of “Orange Is the New Black” and your local UPS employee ― and those are just some of the comparisons people on Twitter have been making. The pop star launched his brand Drew House ― Bieber’s middle name is Drew ― on Wednesday, with a ton of monochromatic looks hitting the brand’s official Instagram page.  Drew House features everything from sweatshirts to T-shirts to corduroy pants, with prices ranging between $48 and $148, and touts itself as a “place where you can be yourself.” Seriously, that’s what the “about us” page says alongside text that reads: “Blah blah blah blahsdbksjdfhl. Wear like you don’t care. Come chill. K. Bye.” Bieber’s Drew House is clearly a very serious endeavor. The cloth...
