Pink Just Gave Ellen DeGeneres A Preview Of Her New Album

Pink surprised fans on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” by performing an impromptu snippet of a new and as-yet-unreleased song.  The pop superstar introduced the track as “Walk Me Home,” the first single from her forthcoming album, “Hurts to Be Human.” And while she’s used to performing to sold-out crowds in stadiums around the world, her vocals were on point, even without any instrumental accompaniment.  Due out in April, “Hurts to Be Human” is the follow-up to 2017’s “Beautiful Trauma” and finds Pink looking to her inner struggles for inspiration.  “If I was truly happy, I would be useless,” the three-time Grammy winner said. “Does art ever come from happiness? Pain is a catalyst for change and it’s a motivator and it’s something worth talking about.”   The interview aired one day after Pink ...

GLAAD Withdraws ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Award Nomination After Bryan Singer Allegations

The growing list of sexual misconduct allegations against director Bryan Singer just cost him his latest chance at a GLAAD honor.  The Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” has been removed from contention in the “Outstanding Film – Wide Release” category for the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards, Variety reported Thursday. The announcement came one day after an Atlantic article detailed claims from four men who said Singer molested or raped them as teens.  GLAAD officials said the decision to withdraw “Bohemian Rhapsody” from consideration was a “difficult” one in a statement sent to HuffPost. “This week’s story in The Atlantic documenting unspeakable harms endured by young men and teenage boys brought to light a reality that cannot be ignored or even tacitly rewarded.”  Though officials praised “Bohemi...

‘The Upside’ Triumphs At The Box Office, Ending ‘Aquaman’s’ Reign

LOS ANGELES, Jan 13 (Variety.com) – In a surprise box office victory, STX’s “The Upside” doubled expectations with its $19.5 million debut, enough to defeat “Aquaman’s” three-week reign in North America. Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart co-star in “The Upside,” which marks the studio’s first No. 1 opening. It also ranks as STX Film’s second-best start behind “Bad Moms,” which launched with $23 million in 2016. The box office victory comes as Hart has been in the headlines for whether or not he would host the Oscars. The comedian was tapped to emcee the industry’s biggest night, but stepped down when controversy sparked over homophobic jokes he made in the past. What’s even more promising for STX is “The Upside,” based on the 2011 French hit “Les Intouchables,” was able to overcome its r...

Judge Dismisses Ashley Judd’s Sexual Harassment Suit Against Weinstein

LOS ANGELES, Jan 9 (Reuters) – A federal judge in Los Angeles on Wednesday dismissed actress Ashley Judd’s sexual harassment claim against movie producer Harvey Weinstein but said she could proceed with a defamation claim against him. Judd had accused Weinstein of defaming her in 1998 after she refused what she said were his sexual advances a year earlier. In her lawsuit, filed in April 2018, the “Double Jeopardy” actress accused Weinstein of smearing her reputation by discouraging director Peter Jackson from casting her in his blockbuster movie franchise “The Lord of the Rings.” Judd, one of the first women in October 2017 to publicly accuse Weinstein of sexual misconduct, had accused the Hollywood movie mogul of sexual harassment in violation of a California law barring such conduc...
