Cardi B’s Baby Repeats ‘Mama’ But Won’t Say ‘Papa’ To Dad Offset In Cute Video

Parenting can be humbling at times. Rapper Cardi B posted a funny video Thursday of her 7-month-old daughter repeating “Mama,” but not saying “Papa” despite encouragement from father Offset. Cardi B, fresh off winning her first Grammy, wrote in the Instagram post that Kulture can’t stop saying “Mama” now. A female voice presumably belonging to the “Bodak Yellow” performer can also be heard saying “Papa,” but the kid doesn’t take the bait. Offset’s feigned look of indignation completes the funny moment. Rewind to several days ago: Hearing her daughter say only “Papa” for a week, Cardi B got emotional when Kulture said “Mama” for the first time. Cardi B shared the sweet moment after she won the Grammy Award for best rap album (“Invasion of Privacy”).  But the family-sharing abruptly stopped ...

Lady Gaga Defends ‘Brave’ Cardi B After Grammy Backlash: ‘You Deserve Awards’

Count Lady Gaga in the Cardi B camp after the rapper drew backlash over her Grammy win.  Both of them walked away with trophies at the 61st annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night; Cardi B even made history, becoming the first solo woman to win Best Rap Album ― but only the hip-hop superstar had to defend her win for some reason after some online critics labeled her undeserving.  Gaga apparently caught wind of the controversy and showed her support for the rapper on Tuesday with a heartfelt post, praising her “brave” fellow Grammy winner.  “It is so hard to be a woman in this industry. What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art,” the “A Star Is Born” actress wrote. “I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards. Let’s celebrate her fight. Lift her up &a...

Nicki Minaj Pulls Out Of Concert After BET Disses Her In Cardi B Tweet

Nicki Minaj made sure that BET paid for the shade. The rapper announced Monday that she was dropping out of the BET Experience music festival after the TV network dissed her with a tweet about her rival, Cardi B. Minaj wasn’t even up for a Grammy, but BET dredged up past tensions between the two rappers anyway with its tweet. In noting Cardi B’s historic Best Rap Album victory at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, BET wrote that “Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.” pic.twitter.com/K1jQXG6b5H — QUEEN (@NICKIMINAJ) February 11, 2019 Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show. ♥️🙏🏽♥️ Summer Tour dates dropping soon 🦄 — QUEEN (@NICKIMINAJ) February 11, 2019 Minaj appeared to throw in fellow artists at Young Money, which includes the record label’s founder, Li...

Cardi B Rants Against People Who Say She Didn’t Deserve Grammy

The 26-year-old performer, whose “Invasion of Privacy” won for best rap album, hotly rejected the criticism of unnamed detractors in a video she posted before deleting her Instagram. (An entertainment news account saved the clip.) “I’m sick of this shit,” she said angrily. “I worked hard for my motherfucking album.” She railed against the fickle nature of award recognition, noting that she lost at year’s Grammys and it was treated by many as an injustice. “I remember last year when I didn’t win for ‘Bodak Yellow,’ everybody was like, ‘Cardi got snubbed, Cardi got snubbed.’ Now this year’s a fucking problem?” Cardi B recounted her new album’s chart success and how she overcame the challenges of being pregnant to make it.  “I fucking worked my ass off, locked myself in the studio for three m...

Ariana Grande Deletes Mac Miller Tweets After ‘Bulls**t’ And ‘Trash’ Grammys Snub

Ariana Grande’s beef with the Grammys just got more serious.  The “thank u, next” hitmaker angrily tweeted ― then deleted ― choice words for the award show after it snubbed her late ex-boyfriend, rapper Mac Miller, in the Best Rap Album category. Miller, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, died from an accidental overdose of cocaine and fentanyl in September 2018.  “Fuck,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet, before writing “trash” and “Literal bullshit. Bullshit.” She added that Miller slept in the studio for two months making his final album, “Swimming,” and that she was upset that the Academy invited Miller’s parents to be there.  When a fan pointed out that the Academy invited his parents but didn’t give him an award, Grande responded in agreement.  “This. this is what I meant. Karen ...

Cardi B Becomes First Solo Woman To Win Grammy Award For Best Rap Album

The Grammys like Cardi B and she likes it like that.  The Bronx-born rapper made history at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday night by picking up the trophy for Best Rap Album, becoming the first solo female rapper to do so in the category’s 20-plus year history. Lauryn Hill won as a member of the hip-hop group Fugees in 1997. It’s not like Cardi B even needed the award given how she’d already shut down the red carpet in a vintage couture gown, followed by a show-stopping performance of her new single “Money.” But nothing could compare to the raw emotion she showed in her acceptance speech.  Besting fellow nominees Nipsey Hussle, Pusha T, Travis Scott and the late Mac Miller, the clearly shocked rapper took the stage to deliver a peak Cardi speech.  Why yes our girls @chloexhalle DID get th...

Cardi B Hit The Grammys Red Carpet In Vintage Couture, And Twitter Brought The Jokes

Look, we’ve long known Cardi B as a fashion icon, but our girl brought pure magic to the 2019 Grammy Awards. Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP The mother of Kulture walked onto the carpet like she owned it, alongside Migos member and Kulture’s father, Offset. She glided through the crowds with ease. Cardi B’s Harper’s Bazaar Photo Shoot Winks At Shoe-Throwing Fight With Nicki Minaj

Cardi B may be giving us full-fledged princess vibes in a fashion spread in Harper’s Bazaar, but she’s not shying away from controversy. The dreamy photo shoot includes an image of the rapper running barefoot from a building in a red gown ― eerily reminiscent of that other time she was running barefoot from a building in a red gown, after a fight with Nicki Minaj at a New York Fashion Week party. The September 2018 clash of the rap titans at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party at the Plaza Hotel has become legend. Cardi threw a shoe at Minaj after Minaj allegedly stepped on the train of her gown. After the fight, the “I Like It” rapper was seen leaving barefoot, wearing a ripped red Dolce & Gabbana gown and apparently rocking a large lump over her left eye. The fight has inspired songs, In...

Rihanna Throws Super Bowl-Size Shade At Passenger Trying To Watch Game

Leave it to Rihanna to steal the show from the Super Bowl while flying high in first class completely unbothered.  The singer, who reportedly declined performing in the halftime show in support of Colin Kaepernick, purposely skipped the big game on Sunday, but that didn’t stop a fellow passenger on her plane from trying to tune in.  Instagramming from a jet to an unknown but presumably fabulous destination, the Fenty Beauty mogul filmed herself deadpanning to the camera, as people behind her attempted to watch the New England Patriots play the Los Angeles Rams and Maroon 5 do whatever that was.  “How can we watch super bowl on the flight? Me:” she wrote alongside the video.  Rihanna on the ✈️ on super bowl Day pic.twitter.com/Kaq9tas9qp — R.R.F Navy (@RihannaNavy532) February 4, 2019 She l...

Cardi B Warns Tomi Lahren After 21 Savage Comment: ‘Don’t Make Me Get My Leash’

Cardi B has sent yet another warning to Tomi Lahren after the Fox News commentator tweeted a snarky comment about the arrest of rapper 21 Savage. “Don’t make me get my leash,” wrote the “I Like It” singer, making reference to a tweet she sent to Lahren in January. Don’t make me get my leash https://t.co/ErQ2RhzDeg — iamcardib (@iamcardib) February 4, 2019 When Lahren went after Cardi B for her comments about President Donald Trump and his supporters in regard to the partial federal government shutdown last month, the 26-year-old wrote on Twitter: “Leave me alone I will dog walk you.” In this iteration of Cardi B talking to Lahren like her pet, Lahren had tweeted this mocking post of rapper 21 Savage. It features Lahren twisting lyrics to the rapper’s song “Bank Account.” I got one, two, th...

Cardi B Says She Turned Down Super Bowl Gig To ‘Stand Behind’ Colin Kaepernick

ATLANTA (AP) — Cardi B said she received an offer to perform at the Super Bowl, but struggled with the decision to turn down the lucrative opportunity in support of ex-NFL player Colin Kaepernick. The Grammy-nominated rapper told The Associated Press on Friday evening that she had “mixed feelings” after she declined to take the stage at Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta. She said it was a hard decision since her husband, rapper Offset, loves to watch football, but she felt obligated to “stand behind” Kaepernick because he “stood up” for minorities. “My husband, he loves football. His kids play football. It’s really hard for him. … He really wants to go to the Super Bowl, but he can’t go to the Super Bowl, because he’s got to stand for something,” said Cardi B, who is nominated for five Grammy...
